Genedata acquired by Danaher

The Basel-based biotechnology company Genedata has been taken over by the Danaher Corporation in the USA. With this takeover, the Danaher portfolio will be bolstered by the expertise of Genedata in the field of life sciences software solutions.
Genedata, a specialist in the development of life sciences software solutions based in Basel, has been taken over by Danaher Corporation from Washington D.C. in the USA. As detailed in a press release, the software solutions and expertise from Genedata are intended to supplement the broad spectrum of workflow solutions offered by Danaher. The two companies have already been successfully collaborating on software solutions for implementation in new therapies and diagnostic methods over the past few years.
“Genedata is a global market leader in digitalizing R&D processes to help accelerate the delivery of lifesaving and personalized medicines”, as Othmar Pfannes, founder and CEO of Genedata, comments in the press release. “As a Danaher operating company, Genedata will seek to continue to attract the brightest talent and solve our customers’ hardest problems globally”, he adds.
Innovative software solutions
Greg Milosevich, Vice President and Group Executive of Danaher’s DH Life Sciences LLC, was delighted that the innovative software solutions developed by Genedata will support biopharmaceutical companies in the development of urgently needed therapies. “We are excited to welcome their team to Danaher and intend to continue expanding Genedata’s capabilities to address new technologies and requirements in this quickly evolving field”, Milosevich states.
